What TextForge Is
TextForge is a collection of 24 free tools in two families: text manipulation (case conversion, whitespace cleanup, duplicate removal, counting, diffing, extraction, Markdown conversion) and developer utilities (MD5, SHA256, Bcrypt hashing, Base64 and URL encoding, UUID generation, MAC addresses, subnet math, number base conversion, and user agent parsing). Every tool runs entirely in your browser — the text and values you paste are never sent to a server.
Why We Built It
Developers and writers paste sensitive things into tools: password candidates before hashing, unpublished drafts before formatting, internal config values before encoding. Most tool sites ship that data to a server first. We built the opposite — local processing by architecture, so privacy isn't a policy promise, it's how the tool works.
How the Tools Work
Hashing uses CryptoJS, a widely deployed standard crypto library; UUIDs come from your browser's cryptographic random source; subnet math uses proper bit arithmetic; the text tools use standard Unicode operations. The core logic is covered by an automated test suite of 50 verified cases, and pages state their limits plainly — the diff checker caps at 500 lines, the diff algorithm is line-based, and Base64 is encoding rather than encryption.
Editorial Standards
Tools are verified against reference values before publication (a known MD5 vector, a known UUID format check, round-trip tests for every encoder). Corrections reported through the contact page are typically deployed within days.
The Short Version
Free tools, local processing, tested math, stated limits. That's the whole model.
